a Three Week Voyage into the DJing World…

DJing is an interesting craft, we often assume that the DJ is doing a variety of things when performing live. We see them switching knobs, pressing buttons and a variety of other activities. However, we do not see all the work that goes in the background in order for the DJ to be able to play that gig. In this introductory course, you will learn the context behind being a DJ.

You will learn all the necessary requirements that a DJ needs to take care of when doing all the work for a performance. We will be chatting about equipment, resources and the culture and industry of DJing. I will be answering any specific questions or concerns that may come up as all of this information is shared with you.

The goal of these introductory sessions is for you to decide whether it is a good time to start with this commitment as you become informed of all its requirements. You don’t need to make any extra purchases in terms of gear and equipment to take this course.

These introductory sessions are great for all types of people who are curious about DJing and have a bit of a desire to try doing it, or for anyone that wants to learn a bit further about this truly special and powerful craft. By the end of this course you will know whether you want to actually start learning how to DJ so you can take the full DJ course that will prepare you for your first set or live performance. 

Meet Paz::

Paz (Dauri Cems) is a prolific DJ, drummer, percussionist, coach, healer, workshop and meditation facilitator, and multimedia event organizer. Originally from Mexico City, they have been vibing in Canada for the past 15 years. Throughout their time in Canada they have been leading and co-creating inclusive projects in the world of the arts, culture and spirituality, providing platforms for artists and creatives to emerge and share their gifts with their community. Paz is currently based in Collingwood, ON, where they host a variety of events. In their 20 years of DJing, Dauri Cems has performed in different festivals in Canada like Solstice, Future Forest, Sonic Springs, Bloom, as well as performing in a variety of clubs, underground parties, weddings, fashion shows, and ecstatic dance events locally, in Mexico and the U.S. As a DJ they have spinned and explored a variety of genres and styles.
